A diet high in fiber can lead to a healthier, more active lifestyle,
reduced appetite, and many other benefits. Yet we still never
seem to get enough of it.
Fiber is one of the most consistently deficient nutrients in American
diets. Refined foods lack the natural fibers that our bodies need,
and most people only consume about one-half of the recommended
amount of fiber per day. AIM fit ’n fiber™ was designed to change
that and to make a balanced fiber diet an easy,
manageable possibility.
fit ’n fiber™ contains 12 grams of total fiber per serving, including 10 grams of hearthealthy soluble fiber. Doctors recommend that men consume 30-35 grams of fiber per day and that women consume 21-25 grams. Considering
that most diets already include anywhere from 12-17 grams of fiber, the fiber content of fit ’n fiber™ makes achieving these
recommendations much easier.
Plus, when you take fit ’n fiber™ with AIM Herbal Fiberblend®, you will have nearly reached your entire recommended fiber intake for the day. Herbal Fiberblend contains 10 grams of fiber per day, so when combined with fit ’n fiber™, the two products provide 22 grams of fiber each day. fit ’n fiber™ is a complementary product to Herbal Fiberblend, and their combined usage can result in an increase in overall health. Herbal Fiberblend is a remarkable colon cleansing product containing some fiber. fit ’n fiber™ aims to reduce appetite, reduce cholesterol, encourage an active lifestyle, and improve the health and diet of our bodies.
The reduced appetite that you may experience from taking fit ’n fiber™ can be traced to the properties of fiber itself. Fiber-rich foods take longer to digest in the stomach than other foods, so those who have diets high in fiber often have a greater feeling of fullness or satiety and, in turn, end up eating less at meals. Another benefit to a slower digestion is that the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream is slowed, decreasing the chances of a blood glucose or insulin spike.
A key factor in the digestion process of fiber is the distinction between soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber dissolves in water to form a gel-like substance, which then swells and prevents rapid absorption of glucose and cholesterol into the bloodstream. Insoluble fiber acts more as a colon
cleanser, moving through the intestine in roughly the same state as when it entered the body. A recent study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that
a soluble fiber supplement induced satiety and had a beneficial effect on cardiovascular disease risk factors, the most important of which was a significant decrease in plasma LDL-cholesterol. Soluble fiber inhibits bile recycling in the intestinal tract. Bile, which is formed from cholesterol, is pulled into the feces for elimination rather than accumulating in the blood.
The high soluble fiber content in fit ’n fiber™ helps make the product a key part to a healthy diet and exercise lifestyle as well as a supporting component to the Healthy Cell Concept®. For best results, make sure to
drink plenty of water and to include fit ’n fiber™ as part of your regular diet and exercise regimen.
The appeal of fit ’n fiber™ goes well beyond the obvious fiber benefits, too. With a greattasting orchard peach flavor, fit ’n fiber™ is one of the most
enjoyable AIM products to take. Feel free to mix the product with your favorite juice or beverage or include it in a smoothie or blended drink. The flavor of fit ’n fiber™ makes it even easier to ensure you get an appropriate amount of fiber content each day.
The packaging was designed with ease and accessibility in mind. As a departure from the traditional plastic jars and containers that hold most AIM products, fit ’n fiber™ is sold in a convenient pouch that is easy to use, transport, and dispose. The bag and seal include a superior air and moisture barrier that keeps the product fresher longer.
The fiber sources for fit ’n fiber™ are varied and include apple fiber, larch fiber, Fibersol®-2, inulin, flax seed powder, psyllium husk powder, bamboo fiber, and glucomannan. This extensive blend of fibers provides the consumer with a fiber profile like nothing else on the market. In addition to fiber, the herbal complex of the product features bitter melon, artichoke, and dandelion root. These herbs aid in satiety, blood sugar maintenance, heart health, and decreased flatulence.
The ingredients in Fit 'n Fiber:
-
Apple fiber (Malus domestica) – the high pectin content of apple fiber can help prevent absorption of cholesterol by binding it in the gut before cholesterol is absorbed in the body. It also promotes healthy intestinal flora. It is a dietary fiber concentrate extracted from dried organically cultivated apples.
-
Bamboo fiber (Bambuseae) – is an insoluble fiber derived from commercially grown bamboo. Insoluble fiber has water-attracting properties that help to increase bulk, soften stool and shorten transit time through the intestinal tract.
-
Fibersol®-2 (Zea mays) – is a soluble fiber derived from corn starch. It moderates rises in blood glucose levels, which limits insulin secretion. It also acts as a prebiotic in the large intestine by increasing beneficial microflora.
-
Flax seed powder (Linum usitatissimum) – contains omega-3 fats, in addition to its high fiber content. It benefits individuals with atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease by reducing colon cell exposure to cancer-causing chemicals, relieving constipation and stabilizing blood sugar levels.
-
Glucomannan (Amorphophallus konjac) – is a natural plant fiber derived from the konjac plant that removes fat from the colon wall and gently helps to cleanse the intestines and relieve constipation. It also increases bulk in the stomach (and intestines) and gives dieters a feeling of fullness, which helps to reduce appetite and assists in weight loss programs. Glucomannan fiber may also be beneficial in lowering total cholesterol and regulating blood sugar levels. Glucomannan expands to many times its own weight and occupies calorie-free space in the stomach, which makes people feel full and satisfied and thereby reduces appetite. By removing fat from the colon wall before the body can absorb and metabolize it, glucomannan appears to benefit obese individuals.
-
Inulin (Cichorium intybus var. sativum) – comes from the chicory plant. Inulin acts as a prebiotic, or a food source for beneficial flora within the gut. This elevated bacterium increases the production of short chain fatty acids, which decreases the pH inside the colon and increases the solubility of calcium and other minerals.
-
Larch fiber (Larix) – is a soluble fiber that benefits gastrointestinal health and is widely tolerated in the general population. Larch fiber is produced by steam-heating of larch wood chips and evaporation of the extract. This procedure does not use any harsh chemicals, and therefore the fiber remains pure and structurally unaltered.
-
Psyllium husk powder (Plantago ovata) – is a dietary fiber. Recent studies have shown that psyllium lowers both cholesterol and triglycerides. Psyllium is well studied as a lipid-lowering agent with generally modest reductions seen in blood levels of LDL cholesterol. Effects have been observed following eight weeks of regular use. Psyllium is ideal for weight loss programs, because it fills the gastrointestinal tract with a bulk that has no calories and helps curb the urge to eat. Preliminary research has shown psyllium helps lower blood glucose levels by slowing the absorption of sugar.
-
Artichoke leaf extract (Cynara cardunculus) – boosts bile output which helps the liver regulate production of cholesterol. It may also aid in reducing symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). A recent clinical trial found that artichoke leaf extract significantly reduced levels of LDL cholesterol. It is grown commercially in North Africa.
-
Bitter melon fruit powder (Momordicae charantiae) – contains three active compounds, charntin, insulin-like peptides, and alkaloids, that are believed to be responsible for the blood-sugar lowering actions which can benefit individuals with diabetes mellitus. It may also cause a renewal and recovery of the beta cells of the pancreas, resulting in improved insulin production.
-
Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) – promotes good digestion by invigorating functions of the digestive organs and stimulating the circulation of blood to the entire body. Dandelion root is considered a superior liver tonic that can also promote healthy gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen function. It mildly stimulates evacuation of the bowels, relieves indigestion, and other gastro-intestinal complaints.
-
Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) – Promotes the secretion of gastric juices, increases peristalsis (coordinated muscular contractions) in intestines, prevents spasms, and helps relieve and prevent further formation of intestinal gas. It also hinders the production of cholesterol by the liver and has been known to reverse triglyceride and LDL cholesterol increases, thus helping to combat heart attack.
-
Beet root juice powder (Beta vulgaris ) – is freeze dried beet juice powder. The amount of beet juice in fit ‘n fiber™ doesn’t provide enough nutrients to replace the use of AIM RediBeets®, nor does it contribute too much beet powder when combined with AIM RediBeets®. This is added as a natural color.
-
Citric acid – is derived from a fungal fermentation process. This improves the beverage’s flavor.
-
Coconut milk powder (Cocos nucifera) – is a sweet, milky white liquid derived from the meat of a mature coconut. The natural oils found in coconut milk have been found to have antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. The fats found in coconut are predominantly medium chain triglycerides. Preliminary studies have shown that medium chain triglycerides can help in the process of excess calorie burning, and weight loss. Coconut also improves the flavor and sweetness of the beverage.
-
Evaporated cane juice (Saccharum) – is derived from sugar cane as refined sugar; however, evaporated cane juice does not undergo the same degree of processing. Thus, evaporated cane juice retains nutrients found in sugar cane that are not found in refined sugar. Evaporated cane juice is a healthy alternative to refined sugar. The juice is pressed from freshly-cut sugar cane, which is washed, filtered, and crystallized quickly after harvest. It contains no artificial additives or preservatives, with no animal by–products used anywhere in the process. Evaporated cane juice is manufactured in South America.
-
Guar gum (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) – is a water-soluble, dietary fiber derived from the guar bean that absorbs and removes undesirable intestinal substances, including excess cholesterol, glucose, and toxins from the body. In our formula this ingredient's main function is to thicken the beverage and improve consistency.
-
Lo Han extract (Siraitia grosvenorii) – The fruit extract is nearly 300 times sweeter than sugar and has been used as a natural sweetener for nearly a thousand years. Triterpene glycosides or more specifically mogrosides are the component of Lo Han fruit that provides the sweetness. Our digestive system is unable to metabolize mogrosides, thus, they are considered non-caloric as well as low glycemic.
-
Natural peach flavor – is a natural flavor extract from peach fruit. It contains no artificial ingredients. Its purpose is to enhance the palatability of the beverage.
-
Peach juice powder (Prunus persica) – freeze dried peach juice that enhances the palatability of the beverage.
-
Rice lecithin (Oryza sativa) – is comprised of phospholipids from brown rice. Phospholipids are the main structural components of our cell walls. Rice lecithin improves the solubility and texture of the beverage.
-
Stevia leaf extract (Stevia) – is a leaf extract from the Stevia rebaudiana plant. The extract is 300 times sweeter than sugar. It has zero calories, zero carbohydrates, and a zero glycemic index. In animal and human studies, stevioside – a glycoside present in the leaves of the plant, has been found to have dual positive effects by acting as an antihyperglycemic (counteracting high levels of glucose) and a blood pressure lowering substance. This could provide potential benefits for those with type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
-
Xanthan gum – is derived from a bacterial fermentation process using Xanthomonas campestris bacterium. This ingredient is added to improve the beverage’s body and texture.
